Friends and Family
Course Description
The AHA Friends and Family Course is designed for anyone interested in becoming aware of ways to assist and protect your loved ones at home. This course teaches how to recognize various emergencies and the proper way to access emergency services, CPR and choking for adults, children and infants. The Automatic External Defibrillator is demonstrated to educate the public and increase awareness of these life saving devices.
Course Length: Approximately 2 hours.
Intended Audience
Anyone who does not need a certification for basic life support but wishes to learn basic life saving techniques to keep your family and friends safe. Mothers, fathers, siblings and grandparents. Babysitters, middle school and high school students, youth group participants. Great family activity for parents, grandparents and siblings before or after the arrival of an infant or child into the home.
Testing
No test is required for this course.
Certification
American Heart Association Course. Participants do not receive a certification card for this course. This is a purely informational course. If you are required to provide proof of a certification in BLS you should take either the BLS Healthcare Provider Course or Heartsaver Course.
Cost = FREE
No book is needed. Informational handouts will be provided.
