Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid
Course Description
The Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid course is designed to meet the regulatory and credentialed training requirements for child care workers in all 50 states. This course teaches basic first aid, CPR, and AED skills for children.
Course Length: Approximatly 2 hours

- First aid basics
- Medical emergencies
- Injury emergencies
- Environmental emergencies
- Optional pediatric first aid modules are:
- Pediatric first aid topics (eye injuries; fever; suspected abuse; and snake, spider, scorpion, tick and marine animal bites and stings)
- CPR and AED use
- Asthma care training for child care providers
Certification
American Heart Association Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid Course Completion Card valid for two years.
During the course, an AHA Instructor conducts video-based lessons and works with students to complete their first aid, CPR and AED skills practice, and CPR and AED skills testing.
Book is required by AHA Standards. Current book must be available to the student before, during and after the course. If you do not have a current book or have access to one through your employer JERD can supply you with a book. If you choose to purchase a book the cost will be the student's responsibility.
