Mission Statement
The Jefferson Emergency Rescue District strives to provide the residents, businesses and visitors with courteous, dependable and quality care.
The mission of the Jefferson Emergency Rescue District and it’s employees is to respond in a safe and professional manner to an emergency; upon arrival, to provide emergency medical care to the citizens of the district; and to continue care to the nearest, most appropriate medical facility.
Who are we?
Jefferson Emergency Rescue District is a full time emergency medical rescue service committed to providing it's patients with the highest quality of emergency medical care. Jefferson Emergency Rescue District is located in Jefferson, Ohio. Jefferson is the county seat of Ashtabula County. Jefferson Emergency Rescue District serves Jefferson Village and Jefferson Township with a population of 5,600 and 27 square miles.
JERD has six full time EMT-Paramedics, ten part time EMT-Paramedics and EMT-Basics and four Auxiliary EMT-Basics and an EMT-Intermediate. JERD is staffed with a minimum of two highly trained EMTs at all times. JERD provides emergency medical care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year!
JERD believes in assisting the community preventing illness and injuries. JERD’s community education programs allow members of the community, local businesses and other healthcare and emergency service agencies to participate in various courses to aid in lower illness and injury in our community. JERD takes pride in our ability to offer quality education programs and the highly trained instructors to teach them! Our education courses are free of charge and can be hosted at our station or at an off site location!
